Our T351 Miniature Screen forms the housing for a range of air temperature sensing elements (or humidity and combined temperature/humidity sensing elements), providing weather protection while allowing the free passage of air.
The circular design with white polished surfaces reduces sensing element measuring error due to temperature rise caused by solar radiation during the day, and errors due to outward radiation to clear skies at night.
Apart from the more rapid thermal response, the performance is comparable to that of the traditional Stevenson Screen.
Two-part construction enables easy access for cleaning, and the sensing element/probe can be easily removed for calibration or replacement. Some variants also include an internal 'gauze' to protect the probe from raindrops (useful when the probe is a combined temp/RH type).

T351 Screens for existing probes:
The T351 is available as the following variants for use with existing probes or other probes of the customer's choice:
- T351-G05 - 6-dish construction to suit probes 5 to 8mm diameter
- T351-G12 - 6-dish construction to suit probes 10 to 14mm diameter
- T351-G18-8 - 8-dish construction to suit probes 14 to 18mm diameter (includes 'gauze')
- T351-G25 - 6-dish construction to suit probes 19 to 25mm diameter
Note that we may be able to offer a customised version if the types above are not suitable. All the above screens provide a mounting point, except for the T351-G25 which assumes that the (large) probe has its own mounting arrangements.
T351 Screens With Probes:
The T351 is available with the following sensors/probes ready-fitted:
- T351-PX-D/3 - this screen is fitted with a 100 Ohm PRT/RTD wired for 3 or 4-wire connections. The sensing element is to 1/3DIN IEC 751
- T351-TR - this screen is fitted with a curve-matched thermistor (2K Ohm at 25?C).
Note that it may be possible to manufacture custom/special screen/probe combinations (using customer's choice of sensing element) if reasonable quantities are required.
Mounting accessories for the T351 range (not T351-G25) include our 405E-L2 (side-arm for mounting T351 alone) or 405-OM (for mounting T351 at masthead with anemometer/windvane on 405-1 series dual mounting arm).
