    A100K, A100M and A100S Anemometers

Datasheet: login to download This anemometer provides a pulse/frequency output signal suitable for direct measurement in Knots, Metres/second or run of wind when connected to a counter, PLC or data logger and is often used in applications where wind speed is required as an input to a PLC which is controlling equipment such as cranes, sprayers or water fountains.

The 3-cup R30 rotor drives a slotted disk interrupting a light-beam generating a stream of pulses. The A100K, A100M and A100S have disks with different numbers of slots and differently calibrated rotors to obtain the different output scalings.

It's electronics are intended to operate from the 12V and 24V DC supplies commonly available at industrial sites, and anti-surge protection is built-in. With 24V DC supply, 24V pulses are generated which are ideal as inputs to a PLC which can count pulses or measure frequency to determine the wind speed using this robust instrument.

Construction is from anodised aluminium alloys, stainless steels and weather resisting plastics for exposed parts. Precision corrosion resistant ball-races and a stainless steel shaft enable the R30 rotor response to produce a highly sensitive yet robust instrument suitable for continuous exposure to the weather.

    Options for this anemometer include:
  • /HE-4 Internal Anti-Icing Heater
  • /HE-1 & /HE-2 External/Retrofit Anti-Icing Heaters
  • /WR Marine Version

  • Note: /WR, /HE-1 and /HE-2 are not recommended for high precision applications.

The recommended mounting adaptors for use with this instrument are our type 405 and 405-1 series.

This instrument is commonly used in conjunction with our W200P Windvane.

    Common Questions:
  • What is the difference between "M" and "K" type instruments (e.g. A100LM and A100LK) ?
  • Do I have to use a "K" instrument to measure the wind speed in knots and a "M" instrument to measure in m/s ?
