    Industrial and Utility Applications

Applications in industry and the water, electricity and natural gas utilities include general weather monitoring as well as many specific applications.

Wind speed alarm and control systems are often used to satisfy requirements for cranes, exposed roofs or other situations where conditions need to be monitored to avoid working during high winds.

Our sensors have often been used in applications where it is necessary to monitor the weather in case a harmful substance (gas/dust/fumes etc.) could be discharged into the atmosphere. Situations like this include chemical plants and oil refineries, incinerators and waste sites.

In some cases it is necessary to restrict transfer/loading of dusty materials or powders should the wind be too high, or to control the dampening of stored material such as stockpiled coal.
