Extension Cables and Junction Boxes
 
UPDATE: 2019: Whilst extension cables and "jointing kits" are still available for sale, stocks of the Junction Boxes shown below are exhausted and so we regret that the 2J-DL-A, 3J-DL-A and 3J-D-1L Junction Boxes are currently unavailable.


A selection of robust, weatherproof die-cast metal junction boxes with metal compression glands is available to assist with the installation and wiring of your instruments.

While we can fit long cables to anemometers and windvanes if requested, we normally recommend the use of junction boxes and extension cables instead because it makes exchanging instruments easier for servicing/recalibration etc. (you don't have to remove a long cable from a mast, just disconnect the instrument from a nearby junction box). Some customers prefer not to use junction boxes and/or connectors because there is a very small risk of intermittent connections caused by ingress of water, corrosion or vibration. Avoiding these risks outweighs the inconvenience of long instrument cables for those customers, especially for installations where the junction box and/or connectors are at the top of a very tall mast and could be difficult to get access to.
